The Program in Evidence-Based Care (PEBC) is an internationally recognized guideline development program based at McMaster University, and supported by Ontario Health. It was established by Cancer Care Ontario (now part of Ontario Health) to support the organization’s commitment to drive improvement in the cancer care system.

The program produces evidence-based guidelines and resources in partnership with clinical experts in all major cancer disease sites and across all clinical programs and modalities. The guidelines help clinicians and policy makers apply the best scientific evidence in practice and policy decisions.

Linking Canadians to cancer services, information and resources.

The Guidelines International network, G-I-N, is a global network, founded in 2002. It has grown to comprise 85 organizations and 79 individual members representing 43 countries from all continents (April 2011). The network supports evidence-based health care and improved health outcomes by reducing inappropriate variation throughout the world.

The PEBC is academically linked with McMaster University and their Department of Oncology. McMaster University has been named Canada’s most innovative medical-doctoral university eight times in the past eleven years.

The Juravinski Hospital is the location of the Program in Evidence-based Care. It is located on the Hamilton Mountain by the brow at the intersection of Concession St. and Upper Sherman Ave.
